Dr. Wilkes is a board-certified medical oncologist. He
specializes in gastrointestinal
malignancies. He has been with Missouri Cancer Care since
1998.
Dr. Wilkes received his medical degree from the University
of Missouri-Kansas City and served his residency at
Jewish Hospital in St. Louis where he became chief resident.
Following a fellowship in medical oncology at Roswell
Park Cancer Institute, Dr. Wilkes was an assistant professor
in the division of hematology and medical oncology at
the University of Missouri-Columbia.
He is a clinical investigator with the National Cancer
Institute and is active in other research organizations.
Dr. Wilkes has also published medical manuscripts, written
book chapters and co-authored a textbook on chemotherapy.
He is a native of St. Louis, Missouri.
